It’s been crafted in traditional ways with open fermenters, basket pressing and largely older French oak. Combines the sweet fruit of the region with a slightly dusty savory character creating an appealing complexity, Rolls effortlessly to a long finish”.    Ray Jordan

Deeply coloured crimson-purple, it is redolent of McLaren Vale with layers of black fruits, choc-mint and ripe tannins, the oak important for texture, not flavour. All up, a thoroughly impressive wine at this price.” James Halliday

“Hand-picked, crushed to open fermenters, 12 days on skins, 18 months maturation in French and American oak, largely used. Deep crimson-purple; full-bodied, but not the least oppressive, letting all things McLaren Vale free to express themselves. Blackberry, black cherry and bitter chocolate are wrapped in a gauze veil of ripe tannins.” James Halliday

“It combines heft with restraint and that’s its key. Black coal, redcurrant, blackberry and clove flavours announce the presence of a big wine, but from there it just keeps the flow going, the party on track. No fireworks, no overreaching, no embarrassing leaps into the pool, and all the better for it. This is a hearty red wine to sit down and settle in with.”
