We have officially kicked off Vintage 2020 for Dandelion Vineyards.
This morning in the shaded overcast conditions (perfect) we hand picked our Single Vineyard Firehawk Farm Shiraz in McLaren Vale. This is the first pick on our McLaren Vale site for Vintage and we were very excited to see it hand picked by our enthusiastic group.
Earlier this week during the cool evening, on the outskirts of Tanunda, our 4th ever vintage of the Honeypot of the Barossa Roussanne was picked. Ironically this wine was picked 2 days previously last year, and on the exact same day in Vintage 2018! At least we know she is consistent!
Life would certainly be much more organised in the winery if we could schedule all of our grapes to be ready around the same day every year, but with Mother Nature at the helm this is not usually the case.
