“This slurpy, rich wine is a meld of 80% of grenache, thankfully but a smidgeon of shiraz, alongside a dollop of the more interesting mataro (5%). Hewn of fruit from abutting blocks and loosely, thus, a field blend. Delicious. Kirsch and smoked meat notes are corralled by some spicy whole-bunch revelry. The finish is long, sappy and nicely pliant. The oak a pillar of support, giving direction.” – Ned Goodwin, Halliday Wine Companion

“80% Grenache, 15% Mataro, 5% shiraz. Raspberry, clove and sweet spice flavours move this through the mouth at speed, its juiciness and savoury edges doing their darndest to keep you coming back for more.”

“An 80/15/5% field blend, the percentages approximate because the vines are interplanted; open-fermented with wild yeast for 14 days, matured for 12 months in used French barriques. An altogether superior Barossa Valley blend with very good colour and a concerto of supple red and black fruits on the finely balanced, medium-bodied palate. Great value.”

“A menagerie of awards including Barossa Winery of the Year in New York ’14, and a 93-point gold from the US Critics Choice ’15! An 80/15/5% blend, wild yeast open ferment, basket-pressed, matured for 12 months in used French barriques. It’s a raw-boned wine that looks as if it will develop obstinately slowly, and isn’t on song now.”

“A 100% whole bunch 80/15/5% field blend wild-fermented, hand-plunged 14 days, pressed to used French oak for 12 months maturation. A no-holds-barred, full-bodied blend with lots of extract to live off. If you want to cellar a GSM for a decade, go with this.”
