The award was presented at the South Australian Wine Industry Dinner and Awards on the 19th of September 2024 at the National Wine Centre. This prestigious accolade recognises Dandelion Vineyards’ dedication to blending the natural beauty of the surrounding vineyards with innovative design, creating a truly memorable wine tourism experience in a breathtaking architectural space.
The Wonder Room, was brought to life by Elena and Zar Brooks, who envisioned repurposing the footprint of an old tractor shed into an elegant, awe-inspiring cellar door. With its expansive glass windows that offer panoramic views of McLaren Vale’s breathtaking landscapes, the Wonder Room delivers a striking “wow” factor that has captivated visitors and judges alike. The space serves as a seamless blend of form and function, allowing guests to connect with the surrounding beauty while enjoying world-class wines.
The Best of Wine Tourism Awards, part of the prestigious Great Wine Capitals Global Network, celebrate excellence in wine tourism across some of the world’s most iconic wine regions, including Bordeaux, Napa Valley, and Rioja. Dandelion Vineyards’ win highlights the winery’s focus on sustainability, innovation, and a deep connection to the land, setting it apart as a must-visit destination in South Australia.
Dandelion Vineyards will now compete for the Global Best of Wine Tourism Award, which will be announced at the Great Wine Capitals Gala Dinner in Verona, Italy, on 24th of October 2024. This achievement not only celebrates the winery’s design but also shines a spotlight on South Australia’s vibrant wine tourism industry.
