"Clearly eager to showcase the riesling component (as at 5% of the blend it is not necessary to note it on the label), this is quirky but wholly delicious. Makes sense: riesling's zingy acidity imparting life to the swirl of purple to blue fruit references inherent to Vale shiraz. Whole bunches of the latter were fermented with stems, atop riesling skins. Beautifully floral. Think lilac and rose water. Charming. Crunchy and long. The tannins are like chewing grape skins and the most delicious pulp. Real verve here." Ned Goodwin, Halliday Wine Companion

"95% whole bunch shiraz fermented with 5% riesling skins for 11 days, then matured in French barriques (mostly new) for 18 months. Is the type of wine that fuels fierce arguments about 100% whole bunch ferments (the riesling is a side show). Vibrantly aromatic and flavoured to the point of outright mouthwatering red fruits and a streak of acidity end up as a coherent whole."

"95% shiraz, 5% riesling. You can't argue with its brightness, nor with its perfumed appeal. It's blue and red-berried, touched with sweet herbs, medium-weight at most and ripe/sound through the finish. Riesling no doubt had an influence but it's not overt, there's nothing dogs-balls about it. It's a pretty red wine, well-shaped and massaged into highly drinkable territory."
