"Dandelion is a partnership between three exceptionally connected and deeply experienced couples in South Australian winemaking, sourcing from old vineyards on prized sites across the state. Established seven years ago, the wines were noteworthy from the outset, and have become ever more refined with each passing year of experience. Red Queen of the Eden Valley is the first super-premium priced wine from Dandelion, sourced from 101-year-old vines and gently treated to French oak barrel maturation. Brett Crittenhen Spicy, peppery – a cooler expression of Shiraz. I love the spice and length with a hint of dark chocolate and mocha; very long to the finish. Almost Rhône-like, the quality wood dissolves into the fruit. Pierre Mansour Dense, closed, haunting nose. Dusty, spicy character, earthy too; quite complex. Full, compact, muscular structure supported by good mid-palate fruit. Serious if youthful, promises a good life ahead; powerful. Anthony Rose A hint of root vegetable and pepper, super-ripe blackberry fruit tinged with pepper and youthful, grippy tannins underpinned by a bittersweet chocolatey note with noticeable power.
